The Nike “Space Hippie” Collection gets an official release date

revealed back in February when times were much simpler and much more virus-free, the Nike “Space Hippie” Collection was implied to debut as part of their Olympic rollout, but because the games have been postponed until next year, the Beaverton brand have chose instead to launch them a lot soon than expected.

Comprising of four silhouettes, including the space Hippie 01, the space Hippie 02, the space Hippie 03, and the space Hippie 04, the range is crafted practically entirely of sustainable materials and is one of the first steps of Nike’s relocation to Zero initiative. While they’re all dissimilar in shape and design, each shoe is made from recycled polyester that’s taken from plastic water bottles, T-shirts, and yarn scraps.

Down below, the pastel blue midsole is crafted from the Swoosh’s newly developed Crater Foam which combines their standard foam, recycled ZoomX foam, and 15% Nike Grind rubber for the ideal amount of comfort with every stride. All this comes together to create their lowest carbon footprint score to date.

In times like this it’s much more essential than ever for brands to start thinking much more about sustainability and the environment. Dropping alongside a 100% recycled tee, the Nike “Space Hippie” Collection is expected to launch globally through Nike SNKRS come June 11th. let us know which pair you’ll be grabbing, and in related news, the Air Jordan 1 High Zoom “Black” is also made from recycled materials!
